What is microsuction

Microsuction is widely regarded as the safest method of ear wax removal available. Unlike ear syringing or irrigation, microsuction uses gentle suction and direct visualisation through a video otoscope - meaning an audiologist can see exactly what they are doing at all times. There is no water or discomfort involved.

The procedure is quick and typically takes 15-30 minutes, and can be performed in one or both ears in  a single visit.

Who is it suitable for

• Anyone with wax blockage causing discomfort, fulness, blocking feeling, tinnitus or hearing loss
• Patients with a history of ear infections
• Patients who have had previous ear surgery
• People for whom irrigation or ear drops have not been effective
• Patients requiring hearing aids or cleaning
